Need Help Mixing? Try Waves Curves AQ!

Bolo, I definitely can see it being a starting point for beginners and pros. The advanced settings that you can tweak is mind blowing. You probably only scratched about 15-20% of what you can do with the plugin. The offset feature is 🔥🔥🔥. Best and cheapest smart eq I have ever seen or used.

Honestly I like your personal mix Bolo. I think it was smoother and sat well on the track. I think the waves EQ sounded a little too harsh at times like her vocals cut through way too much or the volume of her voice sounded like it increased when she hit certain words. Seems like a dope tool though.

I have the Sonible Smart EQ 4. It's been out for a couple years, and learns the source with vocals, bass, etc. Gonna get the Waves AQ to A/B both smart EQs. Bolo, I just got two of those stands from your link. Copped one of those XL desk stands and a mini stand. Those stands look dope. Another great review, bro!🫡

Nothing like having tools to help accomplish what you looking for, I still prefer neutron 5! Always use your ears as well!

i bought it to try out on some undescore orchestral stuff I was doing... usually I use sonible smart EQ and Fab Filter pro4.... well I didn't want to like it. Still, I mixed the track in under an hour full orchestra, compressors etc in usual place.... equator on the master tack alongside another AQ for master EQ... boom job was done in an hour... the one thing I loved about this was how it recognised exactly what instruments were... for fast jobs this thing rocks.... since then on some EDM and some Techno. I don't know what magic sauce it uses but its tasty...

so when i use -Waves Curves Equator and -Waves IDX Intelligent Dynamics in this exact order, should i put the -Waves Curves AQ at the beginning of the chain or after the 2 mentioned plugins?
i know there is not "the best" in music production but theoretically what would make more sense?

Will this plugin be beneficial EQ-ing a beat? Production wise.

I'm not a mixing mastering person but I use to use ozone mastering assistant on desktop. Now that I went totally stand alone with mpc is there anything close to that option with the mpc stand alone units

This is like "Equator2 lets try it again." These "smart" plugins always leave me making the same tweaks I would do without them. Kind of like the dishwasher getting the credit because you made them clean first.

There's a lot of compression in it. It is pulling the ear drums a lot - not sure if you've ever experience that before. I've been testing it too and not a fan of it. it's giving the Gullfoss and Soothe feeling for me - with the tests I've done. Doesn't seem to be any Idea's for effects plugins anymore lately, besides trying to make things "easier" and engineers lazy.
Ended up buying the BB tubes saturator instead.

Idk i may buy this if it's buy like the old waves plugins no subscription I think this combo with waves silk vocals will be prefect. I have waves silk vocals without the subscription so hopefully no sub subscription access to this new eq 🤞🏾

Mastering hardware is better to me point blank if you have the money for it. It's costly and worth it, and most mastering vst's are budget friendly and some are actually good. 😅

I dont like smart eqs because they seem to lack feelings

Yet another tool to make people lazy instead of learning the full process of mixing a song. Not knocking waves for product creation but when will we stop trying to create fast food music
